TOPIC: Jasper's models
#35
Jasper's models 1 Year, 10 Months ago
I'm a very slow painter (that is, I easily get distracted to other modelling projects) so my collection of Ancient models isn't huge. I posted them almost a year ago in my blog.
Who else does ancients too?

I do, although I too get distracted (and not just with modelling) and so I have many unmade and unfinished things on my shelves. (I really got taken away by the Lord of the Rings figures even though I prefer to paint and display them and am not a gamer). I'm really tempted to buy the new 28mm range (arghh!)

Cheers

Well, having about 3^56 projects seems quite normal for modellers and wargamers, so you're normal Murray.

Those look great. Do you actually make the entire model, or do you buy it plain and then paint it?

Hi Sidney,
I wish I were good enough to sculpt my own, so no, you buy these kits as bare metal/resin/plastic, put them together and paint them up.

I like painting 72-scale Ancient and Medieval era figures. Unfortunately, cleaning vinyls depresses me. So that, I limit the numbers and I don't work with same poses without conversion.

Ancients, and also the Medievals, needs clothes freely painted than the uniforms. This makes the painter have more time for the patterns. That's more enjoyable.

In this one, I have not found a reliable source on the Assyrians for the Caesar Miniatures. Having a little creativeness I have probably painted them half-realistic. Titled Assyrian king and his guards.
