Hi everyone,

My name is Eltjo Verweij and I live in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. My main ancient interests are wargaming (Field of Glory) and early Germanic history. I have studied history in the past, but I'm getting a Bachelor's in Logistics at the moment (sometimes real life kicks in).
I have been interested in history as long as I can remember, I just loved reading Robin Hood and Ivanhoe for starters.

The wargame playtest last weekend was great Jasper, hope to do another one soon.

Hi all,
My name is Philip van Acker and I live in Antwerp, Belgium. Since my childhood I have been fascinated with military history, manifesting itself since then mainly through an ever growing collection of toy soldiers as well as what now has become a considerable library. As life's responsabilities (wife and kids) have taken an ever increasing toll my collecting urge has diminished but the interest in all things military has remained a constant. My interests vary over several periods, but the emphasis is on the Roman era and early Middle Ages as well as WW2. Professionaly I have been involved with miniatures (in 2000 I started my own online hobbyshop specialized in 1/72 scale armor and figures) which allowed me meet and talk to a lot of like-minded people as well as learn a lot on the historical level, although mainly WW2. In 2006 I passed the shop on to a friend (too much work and not enough time), since then I have been renovating our house (a typical Belgian activity) as well as catching up on my reading and updating my brain as there have been so many interesting publications and websites appearing over the last years, amongst which Ancient Warfare takes a prominent place. So Jasper, thank you for creating this great magazine and meeting place, I hope I will be able to contribute as much as I learn!

Hello Philip, and welcome to the forums.

I also like the same periods that you are interested in as well, and actually just watched about all of the "Band of Brothers" shows (depict the 506th's journeys thoughout the war, focusing on Easy Company).
