If you're a regular listener to 'a certain general gaming podcast' The D6 Generation, you'll have noticed that though they discuss mostly non-historical games, they are not averse to history. Craig Gallant especially has expressed his love for Romans on more than one occasion.

In addition to the podcast with issue IV.1, Ross Cowan posted some self-confessed rambling (yet interesting) notes on the Roman phalanx before the introduction of the maniple on his personal blog.

Yeah, it's a podcast, so don't get excited. Sound only. ;-) Because I got bored listening to the same songs on my iPod for my morning run - and am apparently too lazy to change them - I looked for some interesting podcasts to listen to since I already know what the AW podcast sounds like...

Issue III.1 is on its way to subscribers, so it's time to prepare another podcast. I emailed all the authors yesterday and got an encouraging response and good proposals for topics to touch upon. I'll post those here and we can continue the discussion in the comments.

It's hugely overdue, but this Sunday (the 21st), we'll have another Skype-phone conference to record the 5th podcast. Murray Dahm and I will be joined by Mark Schwartz, who wrote 'Warriors at the dawn of time' in AW II.5. Hopefully Angus will be able to upload the result somewhere in the Christmas week, so you'll have something to listen to, when you've had your fill of food, drinks and family.

Angus Wallace of the History Network tells me we've had over 4,500 downloads of the first two episodes. WOW! That's the kind of encouragement we need to make another one soon. If you have any ideas / suggestions / questions, we'd love to hear them!
